MONDRAGON and Éxxita Be Circular launch Circular Replay to promote the circular transformation of industry, a project that aims to provide technological solutions that help transform the design, manufacture and consumption of products, with an impact on waste reduction and the promotion of circular economy models. Éxxita Be Circular, a technology company from the ICT sector and a benchmark in the comprehensive and intelligent management of the life cycle of resources, contributes its knowledge and proprietary tools based on artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain to the project, while MONDRAGON, the leading Basque business group, leads the initiative by offering a cross-cutting, solid and cutting-edge technological proposal to respond to the great challenge of industrial transformation towards a more sustainable and respectful model for new generations.
Circular Replay incorporates circularity as a differential factor in the design, manufacturing and consumption processes of products, optimizing the use of raw materials, saving energy and reducing waste generation thanks to the selective recovery of components enabled by Éxxita Be Circular's tools and MONDRAGON's multi-sector industrial know-how. This alliance facilitates the application of solutions throughout the industry's value chain, turning the operational and environmental challenges of the linear produce-use-throw away model into opportunities that improve the economic, social and environmental sustainability of customers.
The project will also be a key ally for the WEEE waste ecosystem, helping to increase recovery rates and enabling the reintroduction of digitally circular certified components into the value chain. In addition, Circular Replay plans to generate added value in sectors such as urban mobility and healthcare, where the reuse of resources and energy efficiency are key to more sustainable development.
Éxxita Be Circular thus boosts the impact of its technological developments to drive circular economy models in the industry. With its proprietary artificial intelligence platform for the generation of predictive models, a history of more than 20 million previous experiences and developments such as the Digital Green Passport to ensure the traceability of the life cycle, the company has recovered more than three million devices since its creation and has a presence in more than 60 countries and at major international technology fairs.
For its part, MONDRAGON is taking another step forward in its strategy of sustainability and business commitment by placing all the knowledge and capillarity of the leading Basque business group at the service of Circular Replay. With 83 cooperatives and a presence in 150 countries, the corporation is reinforcing its present and future commitment to sustainability with this project, based on intercooperation models in line with its DNA. Initially, two industrial divisions (Components and Equipment) and the Sareteknika cooperative have actively joined the group, with the plan to incorporate new divisions and cooperatives in the short term.
According to Alejandro Costa, CEO of Éxxita Be Circular, this agreement represents a qualitative leap in the application and scope of its technology, as well as a strategic decision due to its impact on the transformation towards circular economy models in line with the reality of each sector and for having the confidence of one of the main industrial players in the market.
